Meet the Farm Girl

Farm Girl Grocery is an independently owned and operated business growing from the bounties and blessings of a small farm household in Mississippi. The business was founded in 2010 by Lise Foy, who learned the art baking from her mother and love of preserving food from her grandmother. After earning a degree in Agricultural Pest Management from Mississippi State and a master’s degree in Agronomy from the University of Wyoming, she went on to work as an Extension Agent (twice), a Downtown Re-development Director (twice), and finally Director of an Agriculture Museum. After reaching the goal of motherhood in 2013, the call of the kitchen, garden, and memories of child-hood on a farm drew her home to raise her family. She finds a good use for her knowledge of gardening and love of art and design in grocery farming and baking. Based in Mississippi, with frequent visits to Wyoming and Texas, her inspirations for cooking and flavor styles are eclectic and rich with rural culture.
